The Artisanal Process
Hand-Knotted vs Hand-Tufted
Hand-Knotted
Hand-knotted rugs are constructed knot by knot, creating an exceptionally dense structure that lasts 50+ years. Each knot is individually tied, making the process labor-intensive but resulting in an heirloom-quality piece.
Hand-Tufted
Hand-tufted rugs are woven using a faster technique and are beautiful, but typically last 10-15 years. The difference is not just durability; it is about investment philosophy.
